Kit: Airfix A12007
The Kit: This is a pretty good kit by Airfix but its not without its problems. Strengths include nice panel lines and mostly good fit which allows for a rapid build. The areas of fit where I had trouble were the upper/lower fuselage parts which donโt align near the intake on one side and the canopy. Also, some of the decals silvered and some peeled off after a clear coat.
Overall Iโd recommend this kit since I found it to be a fun build. One tip I can offer is to not attach the tail assembly until after all the paint goes on - this structure fits well so assembling it last poses no problems and prevents sandpaper finish caused by turbulence when air brushing.
Thanks for looking,
Richard
Nice to see a Javelin in this colour scheme.
Nice work, Richard. Thatโs one big plane!
Very nice (@rbungay).
Pretty cool little jet, and a really nice build on your part Richard. I love a good natural metal finish and yours looks awesome. Great advice on the assembly tip too. I've run into that problem on different aircraft where it couldn't be helped, not fun.
Excellent build Richard! Informative article, too, I particularly liked the airbrushing tip regarding turbulence.
Well done!
Superb looking Javelin, Richard @rbungay
Thanks for sharing that valuable tip.
What a big, beautiful beast! ๐คฉ Great job on the Javelin, Richard @rbungay! ๐
Looks beautiful! Great paintwork and finish.
Cool looking bird and you did a nice job!
๐ ... Greetings ... ๐ :
This is a well - done Javelin Richard and you have done an elegant work on it.
Love the finish and subtle weathering.
Lovely Javelin, and a bold approach to go NMF when you could have gone with the typical camo scheme! ๐
