Marshal Jean Lannes W-I-P
One of the ablest of Napoleon’s marshals, he was mortally wounded in 1809 against the Austrians when an errant cannon ball shattered both legs. Napoleon is said to have wept by his bedside.
I found this figure tough to paint, likely because the face has some large un-differentiated areas. Eventually, I found the painting by Gericault of the cuirassier and that kind of provided the roadmap -- greenish yellow lights, and brown, green-umbrish darks.
You did really well on this tough sculpture, Aramis @aramissebastian
Excellent figure, Aramis!
Thank you both for your very kind words.
