Good guy alert Eduard
Good guy alert - Martin at Eduard.
Yesterday I had the very great pleasure of being given a guided tour of the Eduard facility at Obrnice. I am holidaying in the Czech Republic and decided to scoot over to their facility in the hope that they have a walk- in store.
Well they don't but I was offered a guided tour by senior manager Martin.
He showed me all of the different production lines and explained how everything is done in-house. Really great to see the CNC machines milling away, the injections moulding machines knocking out sprues, the resin priniting shop, decal shop and lots more besides.
I delibrately took no photos as this is their business and I wanted to respect that.
I even injection moulded my own Spitfire sprue.
Many many thanks to the wonderful people at Eduard and long may their business thrive.
Regards
Brian Kirwan
Great opportunity. Kudos to those at Eduard
It must be fascinating to see how they do what they do so well. And you know it is a labor of love because they are willing to share their passion, to even an unannounced visitor. I will be starting my P-51B soon, and am looking forward to a long nose P-40 in the not too distant future, hopefully.
Eduard's 1/48 fighters issued in the past few years are my favorite kits...the surface details are fantastic. Very innovative company coming out with new products all the time. They have a had a hugely positive impact on the hobby.
That would be fantastic.
How great of Eduard to do this, Brian @info4
You must have had a wonderful day at their facility.
A fascinating event, Brian!
Hi Brian Brian (@info4)It is really nice to hear that there are still people in the hobby like Martin. My Mom's parents came to the US from Czechoslovakia before WW2. I need to plan a visit there.
I live not far from Obrnice, so I always have first-hand news.
Thank you to everyone for the warm reactions.
