"Wrong Turn at Cambrai" -- Mk. IV Diorama (BEST IN CLASS)

April 1, 2025 · in Armor · · 17 · 250

Hey everyone.

I decided to enter my first ever model show. I was fortunate enough to snag 4 medals and a Best in Class for Dioramas/figures. It was a great experience and one that motivated me to finish this two year project.

I did a full write up on the process at Britmodeller.com under the Ready for inspection thread for armor. I'd write it here again, but when you see how long it is, you'll understand.

I've got the pics for you however. Hope you enjoy them and please feel free to comment, critique, etc.

Graeme

  6. Very nice, Graeme (@graemestreet). It is really great to get such motivation from your first contest. It should really give you a big push on some modeling. Well done.

  7. Best in Class? Looks like a Best in Show to me. Awesome all the way, attention to detail is outstanding. The closeup shots are the best. Cheers.

    • That's what I was working for, but there were a few top notch models there. Someone had a plane rigged out to insanity that won and there was a Kitty Hawk carrier that was 7 years in the making and all lit up with every crew member on board. Unreal. It's ok, I'm really happy with my results. I snagged 4 medals, 2 golds and a best in class. I'll take it and motivates me to try new things.

  8. Awesome result, Graeme!
    Prizes well deserved!

  9. Beginner's luck? 🤔 No, of course, I'm kidding! 😄 No beginner could ever achieve this! That is a most amazing diorama, Graeme! So much to see, so much to like. Great job and so well-conceived! 👏
