Tamiya 1/12 YAMAHA YZF-R1M.
This is my Tamiya Yamaha YZF-R1M.
Built almost straight from the box using Mr Color and Tamiya lacquer paints.
The metallic effects are Alclad but with a couple of coats of Mr Color clear so it looks like automotive lacquer.
I lost the suspension spring to the carpet monster so I had to make my own, which I reckon came out better anyway.
I also used the kit forks as I couldn't get the anodised update parts, with careful painting they came out fine though.
I also drilled out the holes in the brake discs, very tedious but we'll worth the effort.
Very tidy build.
This is awesome work, Steve!
Congratulations!
Although I'm not into building motorcycles, I do drive them however, I have to say that this one looks beautiful.
Even difficult to distinguish from a showroom model.
Spectacular!
Great build, those 1/12 Tamiya kits are the business.
Nice bike!
The R1 is my lucky bike, I've never crashed one!
It's good to see this kit getting popular.
