ERC-90 from Argentine Marine Corps
Greetings to all forum members.
In this occasion I want to show you the last thing I built in these times. It is the ERC-90 from Tiger Models. The truth is that it was a very "interesting" experience...
The first thing I thought, as soon as I opened the box, was: "this kit is very complete and easy to assemble". It comes with a good amount of parts (for the size of the model), many transparent parts, etched parts and metal springs for the suspension.
The reality is that you have to be very careful during assembly. The instructions are not very clear, they forget to place some parts or indicate to place some that do not exist. Mainly the instructions are confusing in the assembly of the suspension, fenders and hydroreactors.
The fit of the parts is poor in some areas, such as the hydroreactors, engine exhausts and fenders. The plastic wheels are not the best, but fortunately it has some pretty decent rubber ones.
The metal springs are worth mentioning. The result, after placing them, is very realistic.
The kit comes with decals for two versions: one of the Mexican Army, and another of the Argentine Marine Corps. Be careful with this last version: you have to add a couple of pieces that you forgot: a basket on the left side of the tower, and what seems to be a rangefinder located above the coaxial machine gun barrel. I also added a pair of canisters on the right front fender, which can be seen on some Argentine vehicles.
The paint is from AcrÃlicos Vallejos, and has several washes with AK and MIG products.
After assembling the kit, the following question arises: Is the kit recommendable? The answer is yes. The truth is that I don't know any other kit of this vehicle in 1/35. Besides, the final result is more than acceptable. But whoever gets this kit should be careful with the instructions, study them carefully, and try to get photos of the real vehicle to use as reference.
I hope you liked it, and any criticism is welcome.
Thank you very much and see you next time.
This is really a nice-looking model, Juan (@juanravi73). I don't believe I have ever seen one of these built. Paint and weathering are very convincing.
Looks really great, Juan!
You did a great job on this challenging kit of this rare subject.
Hello Juan,
Like mentioned above, not seen before.
The finished model looks great.
Will dig into its history by the marines from Argentina.
Like for instance, was it used during the Falkland Conflict.
