Minerva armoured car, 1/35

September 22, 2023 · in Armor · · 10 · 471

Greetings to all forum members.

On this occasion I would like to show you a kit that I finished some months ago, but that I was only able to photograph now.

It is a WWI wheeled armoured vehicle from Belgium: the Minerva. It is considered by some to be the first operational wheeled armoured vehicle in history.

The vehicle was built using civilian vehicle chassis from the Société Anonyme Minerva Motors company, to which an open armoured body was added. Approximately 35 vehicles were built and were used even after the end of WWI.

The kit is from Copper State Models, in 1/35th scale. The level of detail and fit of the parts is very good. The instructions are clear and have a more than correct presentation. It is necessary to be careful with some parts, because of their fragility.

For the painting stage I used Vallejo acrylics, mainly pale blue grey (reference 71.046). For the weathering we used MIG washes, Vallejo and Casttle Art pigments, oils and graphite.

I hope that the model is to everyone's liking. Any suggestions and criticisms are welcome.

Greetings to all.
