...and speaking about spoiling an otherwise handsome aircraft, my vote goes to the P-38 Pathfinder modification...

All your selections are MUCH uglier than the one I was thinking of...the Defiant.

Here comes my entry. Junkers Ju 88V-5, used to test the cockpit section for the never produced Ju 288.
    D-ATYU ( if i am correct )
Martins Zveno bomber with the fitted fighter escort was kitted by ICM many years back, by the way.

PZL M15 Belphegor - a Polish jet biplane crop duster. Doesn't get much better than that!

Yeah, that is ugly, but look at all them pretty MIGs in the background! Is this a used MIG lot somewhere in the former WARPAC? I'll save my pennies. Nice MIG-15 UTI for gadding about the countryside on Sundays, yeah! That's the ticket!

Technically, the PZL belphegor was built in the 1970, so it would classifiy as a modern jet 😆

Now we've had an ugly nose on a P-38, how about spoiling a de Havilland Mosquito? Not an easy task IMHO...

Gary, that's the flying Flapjack. I think the idea was to bemuse the enemy. Or make them doubt their eyesight and/or sanity. Shades of the Thirties comic papers.
