Back to modeling, is it too late to build a tank for this GB?

David, I forgive you. As you can see, my Celtic blood does not run very thick and I dare say you have more of a claim to that ancient warrior DNA.

The camel? Oh, yes, the model. Almost forgot.

Well, that old children's question of what the camel hides in his hump will be answered this weekend. If I can get up and motivated. And there is the small matter of a beer festival in our village today. It's not the beer, but the socialising that takes its toll in this annual event.

Louis Gardner, Kingslayer. Has a ring, you have to admit.

Chuck, if there's on place on this earth you CAN'T go on for too long, it's one one of my build threads.

That is some seriously interesting work you've put into the family tree (and roots, so to speak). We are all connected, Chuck, which makes the wars that all us modelers are so obsessed over seem even more inexplicable and awful. Which is one reason we obsess over them, I guess.

Thanks for sharing your stories and observations, Chuck. You are a gentleman and a friend.

Why Thank you David, that means a lot. I do believe we are all connected. In many ways. As I have mentioned to Louis, like minded people think alike. Will take advantage on our long Memorial Day weekend.

Also the same applies to my threads. I love to read and also listen to wisdom.

Chuck, someone else asked me the question about a late(ish) addition to the KP GB. To go by the letter of the law, a declaration of intent before June 1 (the official end date of the GB, since the Tunisia Campaign wrapped up in May, 1943 with the surrender oft he Afrika Korps) would do the trick. Why not start a thread in this section with your intent to build? There are lots of possibilities still out there.

On your family thing, anyone with Spanish heritage and proof of even trace Jewish blood has a ready-made history for them: Pre-Isabella Spain was heavily Jewish (the so-called Sephardic Jews), and by definition they are Diaspora Jews, meaning, Jews released from the Exile scattered abroad, including to Tarshish Iberia). From thence, everywhere.

David, it's nice to be forgiven of the sins of my fathers. I have some work to do in the Burrell line. Dollars to donuts I've got some lads there who drew the sword or poleax against the hated English back in the day. Surely my McNair and McMahon ancestors did!

Camel or not; Beer fest or not; (though I'd love to join you David L-S) ... I for one don't want this "post" (or masterpiece of interesting topics) to end! Ancestry lessons from Louis, David, David, Chuck - WOW! Religious study and other history. This is sooooo interesting. And a camel, too. Who knows what's in his hump - I'm sure it's snacks. And maybe a juice box or 3.

This one - like another I could name, is long for a reason; they're full of fun, facts, and frivolity! Today in America is Memorial Day, where we honour our fallen soldiers, veterans, & serving soldiers. It's not a bank holiday here, but the banks ARE closed, and I assure you there WILL be a lot of beer consumed, or in my case some Strongbow Cider. And mayhaps a beer. Or 2. I doubt we'll see any camels but I'll be on the lookout for any wandering through the sands in my back yard, or garden, for my British friends.

Happy ____ Day - you fill in the blank! If it's NOT a holiday where you the reader are, then just have a happy day!

David, I really look forward to the reveal and the discussion I know will follow. Now, let's get this party started!

Well, Jeff - she's done, camel and all. The finished post is on

“I’m telling you, Rudi, there’s something not right about that cam..”!
All good things must come to and end. Thanks for all the participation and special thanks to David for putting together this great Group Build! Now, let's see what we can cook up next...
