Excellent start, my friend @fxrob! Indeed, thick sprue gates.

Hi, Felix (@fxrob): Bombers, even in 1/72, take a lot of paint. It will be hard to see a lot of the interior that is present in the model once you close the fuselage. The good news is that it isn't a 1/48 model.

Those sprue connections are indeed quite thick, Felix @fxrob
It should be no issue with your skills, but Airfix could have done a better job there.

Progress has been slow due to work but i finally got around to doing some of the interior parts. There is really a lot of lovely detail. I am not a fan of cockpit decals, but the ones provided are actually not bad. I will probably just add a matte acrylic filter to make them stand out less. I decided to stick to my USAAF yellow-green cockpit color from AK. Also put down a matte coat, so weathering is next. I thought of buying the Eduard B-17 seatbelts but decided against it and will probably just do some homemade stuff. I need to stop buying all the aftermarket stuff!

Yes Felix, nice progress on the B-24 interior. It's a shame so much of this is hidden. Of course you could cast a clear resin fuselage half! ...Just kidding... 🙂

Dear @fiveten, @clipper, @johnb, @gblair, added an acrylic panel wash and some chipping with an AK pencil, lots of fun with that interior!

Still not sure what to do regarding seatbelts...scratch build 'em?

Very nice looking interior, Felix @fxrob
I would also opt for scratch build seat belts.

Interior looks really nice, Felix (@fxrob). Lots of seat belts, so doing you own is certainly a good option. It will be a shame to close up all of this work in the fuselage.

Seat belts on bombers can be a pain only because there is potentially many of them. However, they do add to the overall build. Making them from masking tape is not hard. Making the buckles is a bit more difficult, especially in 1/72. There are numerous techniques out there to look into for the buckles.

This looks like a nice kit… I didn’t realize Airfix produced a new B-24 . It looks very detailed.
Your work on it looks great !

Jay @ssgt thanks a lot, it’s brand new and has lots of detail!

I added my own seatbelts, what do you guys think @clipper, @fiveten, @johnb, @gblair? It’s certainly not on eduard level, but…🙂
