Your B-24 kit looks much nicer then the old Airfix B-24J I’m currently working on. All the extra work and aftermarket engines are really impressive!

Those engines are a definite upgrade as is the waist gunner. 80gr of weight should be enough. Can't wait to see this finished.

Tidal Wave is just one of those crazy missions where courage was common. Parts of one of the raid B-24s still exist in a museum in Turkey, plane splashed into the Black Sea just yards from the Turkish coast.

After closing fuselage (need some putty and sanding but not too much) I started masking clear parts. I decided to drill nose part for extra waist machine gun and also blank lower hole for MGs. I purchase four extra MGs. Two resin and two brass. I hope all fit in nose and other positions. This kit has belly MG position with extra clear part with open hole. Very nice! Hasegawa kit doesn’t have it! Eduard masks doesn’t fit perfectly. Dorsal turret I need to mask by myself.

PS. I’m glad that You like my work and regularly wrote in this thread. Thank You!

Nice progress @lis. It looks like the fuseage was a decent fit. The old Monogram kits were a decent fit but definitely not Tamiya like. Sometimes we get spoiled.

I started assembly of extra aftermarket guns. This brass one has ammo belt but it need good fit to glaze nose because of lack space.

This guns with ammo belt was made on Ukraine. You can buy it only on eBay. I assembly guns to fit it in right places in my Liberator. I painted it in Matt black and weathered by Tamiya Weathering Master set.

The earlier B-24s with the glass nose, while maybe not defended as well as the later turret nose versions, has always been a favorite of mine. Probably because I remember reading about the Ploesti version as a boy and having Revell's outstanding box art to spur me on. Looking good so far. The brass guns and ammo belts are a nice touch. I've used these (or similar) to good effect in the past and they are worth the money spent.
