@johnb - There’s a newly published Wellington reference book that was just released by Fonthill Media you might want to check out:

My building pace on this Wellington is definitely slower than it was during the war for a real one.
Nevertheless I made some progress on the bomb bay today.
The last parts, 12 curved doors at the outside of the bay, have been cut into pieces.

The third row of doors have been mounted to the bay as well and are painted black with a small amount of grey mixture.
Dry brushing should make it a bit more realistic later on.

I'm glad to see you went "all in" on doing the bomb bay right. It's looking good and will be worth the effort.

@tcinla, thanks a lot, Tom. It is a great kit provided by Trumpeter although they could improve a bit by molding the doors seperately OOB.

Like TC said, smart move cutting all those doors apart, John @johnb. This is really going to enhance the already fine attention to realistic detail you’ve got going on here.

@eb801, thank you, Eric. In the end I'm happy that all you guys convinced me to seperate all those doors. It makes this already fun build even nicer.

Looks great, John (@johnb). You definitely have more patience than I do. 12 bay doors would be more than I could handle. Looking forward to the camo and decals.

@gblair, thanks a lot, George. In the end a total of thirty doors will be mounted. The moment of painting an applying the decals is getting closer.

By applying the outer 12 doors, all 30 doors are mounted now. I am pretty happy with the result and she will look more realistic once finished to my idea.

Also a start was made with the wheel covers, in PE.
