@lis, thanks, Lis. The used color is Vallejo 71.057, black RLM22. The tube outlet was used to drop flares. On the interior pictures of the thread you can see the tubes used for that.

@gblair, thank you, George. The even black color does give some nice accents. But also reveals some irragularities which I will correct later on.

Started the masking for the top surface colors.
Created some thin strips of masking tape to be able to create the curve at the tail section.

Hopefully the tape will come off without issues once painted.

@johnb - What tape are you using? You should get Drafting Tape, a low-tack tape available at artist supply and office supply stores. It never pulls anything up.

@tcinla, this is a brandless tape from a local store. It is pretty low-tack. There are some moments when a piece of paint comes of but that happens rarely with this tape. Thanks for the advice, I will definitely have a look for tape with even less force.

Tamiya have elastic white tape for curves.

@lis, sounds very useful, Lis. In two weeks I will visit a modelling exhibition and see if they have it.

Final preperations were done prior to applying the first of the top surface colors.

First applied color was Dark Green, Vallejo 71.324

I did not it entirely uniform to make it look like a bit faded by the weather. It does however not clearly show on these pictures. Will need to shoot some better pictures once all is done.
