If I were able to sing like Julie Andrews, I’d include these in my song about a few of my favorite things. It’s nice to see these aircraft in color as well as the people. I have a few other similar books of color from world war 2 and Korea , they are fun to study. It seems as I’ve aged I read less, but I still enjoy picture books. All the major U.S.types are shown as well as a few allied airplanes and a couple of the bad guys.

Excellent, Jay. Brilliant references for modeling. And if you are able to sing like Julie Andrews...how about auditioning - ‘iModeler - the Musical!’

    “Wildcats on flat-tops,
    and Spitfires and StuGs
    Natural metal on Thunderbolt Jugs,
Old fashioned biplanes with multiple wings,
These are a few of my favourite things.

Olive drab mustangs and mottled grey Fockes,
    Hawkers and Heinkels,
    And bright deep red Fokkers,
Stukas and Corsairs with silly bent wings,
These are a few of my favourite things.

Panzers and Shermans in titanic clashes,
Not enough time to build all our stashes,
African deserts where Tiger is King,
These are a few of my favourite things.

    With the paint dries,
    With the glue sets,
    When I’m feeling sad,
I simply remember my favourite things,
And then I don’t feel so bad.

That song ... such a sound of music. (Very clever, David. Thanks!)

You must have been working on that for quite awhile , David.
    Very droll.

David now do "I am 16 going on 17". I'll start, "I am an F-16 going on F-18..."

Jeff, I can just imagine the missus wondering what the hell it is that you’re singing in the shower?

Thanks, Jay. Probably not as long as you’d think. I think it’s defective genes.

I’ll bite, Michael...out of my comfort zone here as I don’t know the melody and I’m damned if I let anyone see me watching “Sound of Musik” clips on YouTube...

    “I’m an F16 going on 18,
I know that I'm no MiG.
Pilots I meet may tell me I'm sweet
But I fly like a pig.

I’m a B-17, wish I was a Mitchell, naked girl on my nose,
    “Sack time Sally”
    Or “Flack Alley”
What do I know of those?

    Totally underpowered am I
To face a world of jets
Timid and shy and scared am I
    Without my ‘little friends’

    I am a Falcon,
    Want to be a Growler,
What is a girl to do?
You are a Flogger who should know better,
    I can’t depend on you.”

This looks like a great book to add to the collection. What’s not to like ?

Color photos and Korean War jets ...

Not to mention the snazzy tunes ! You guys always make me laugh. Thanks
