    Back In Action!
... thanks to Tom C. who sent me some Trumpeter Wyvern decals to replace the ill fitting ones that came with the kit, particularly the decals that read "Royal Navy". Printed way too wide.
Using Tom's decals I was able to move forward thanks to some visual research from George H. that matched the Trumpeter decals based on the following markings in this photo:

Now the spinner was supposedly painted blue but I had already painted my red, so sorry. Nor I did have a spare centerline elongated fuel tank like shown in the photo with the shark's teeth. I let that be. But if I come across one down the road...

Everything is all decaled now and sealed using Alclad Klear Kote Semi-Matte, Light Sheen and a tiny bit of Flat Clear Kote. Now for some touch up and I'll get this Wyvern standing up tall soon. The landing gear is next.

Time to install the resin exhaust stacks which I resprayed with Alclad burnt metal. I forgot to put some styrene backing behind the hole when the fuselage was apart. No big deal. I cut some evergreen sheet to size, taped it on the end of a chopstick, smeared some CA glue on it and stuck it in place through the nose, let it dry and gently twisted the stick back out with the backing solidly in place. Both sides took less than 5 minutes combined.

And in minutes, all done. Exhausts in place.

Tha Wyvern exhausts are a most prominent feature of the Wyvern and you did a great job there, my friend @eb801!

Very impressive Eric, the exhausts are looking great and the detail you have achieved on the paint and decals is brilliant. I am really enjoying your build and the Wyvern is iconic in my humble opinion - design and engineering! Looking forward to seeing the contra-rotating blades on the sharp end! Thank you.

    STANDING TALL AT LAST!
Now the Wyvern is standing up at last! Should have knobby tires but smooth ones came with the kit so that's what i used. I angled the gear forward at 20 degrees like the real deal. The kit would have the gear go straight down. Also used some white glue to create lenses for the bottom ID lights.

I can see the finish line now.

@eb801 - this is really nice! I'm so glad I was able to give you the decals to save this and get to this excellent result.

    Looking great, my friend @eb801!
    And almost finished!
Which makes me eager to revisit my Sukhoi 27, that I've left idling for a while!

Hey Tom - without those decals you sent me, I would be in a heap o misery. Again, thanks for sending me those and for your extremely useful tips.
And everyone else, thanks for looking and the encouragement.
    MOVING RIGHT ALONG
One gas tank at a time. Unfortunately the contour of the one piece tank/hard point doesn't fit the curve of the wing without a heck of a lot of work but it's close enough. Rockets will be added next.

    ROCKETS ADDED
Now it’s time to install the one piece molded rockets, rails and hard points. Granted the detail on these could be a hundred times better but…as I said, I’m building this strictly out of the box. (I did use a pitot tube from an Airfix Spitfire kit, but that’s it! So far.)

On the bottom of the Wyvern wings, Classic Airframes has molded a series of slightly raised circles to indicate the where hard points attach. Call them “location points”. These need to be sanded flush to the wing to make things fit, but first… drill tiny holes in the center of each circle so you can find them later after sanding and painting. Same technique applies to the gas tanks.

Next I drilled tiny holes in the bottom of each rocket rail leading post and glued some wire in there to provide something to grab onto in the previously drilled locator hole. I applied CA cement to the bottom of the rail posts, stuck the pin in the wing hole and attached each rail to the wing aligning them as I went. Done!
    Airfoils are next.
