Not too much progress, just the mount of the horizontal stabilizers, which did fit nicely.

And preparing the engine to get some detail painting. First applied an overal gun metal paint from Vallejo.

    Things are progressing nicely, John!
I also assembled the complete engine, but it’s hidden inside the fuselage though. At least I know it’s there 🤣

@clipper, thank you, Carl. I will do my best to make it look nice.
@alfred, thanks a lot, Alfred. I would have done the same, did you also paint it prior to the encapsulation.

Looking really nice, John (@johnb). The engine is already starting to look its part, and the tail looks complete with the stabilizers.

Nice work John, a bit late to the party. Your off to a great start. I'm strapped in for the rest of project.

No I didn’t, that would have been a complete waste of time. However the idea was by adding the engine it would give the fuselage more sturdiness.

Hi, John (@johnb) and Alfred (@alfred): I didn't plan to show the engine for my build, so I left it out completely. I did add the large flanges that support the engine in the fuselage, thinking they would provide support for the wing-to-fuselage joint, as well as providing some support for the fuselage itself. As it turned out, it was difficult to get the engine supports into the correct positions without the engine to hold them in place, and I ended up having supports that were slightly crooked. This resulted in a poor wing-fuselage joint that needed a lot of work to fix. If I was to build this kit again, I would absolutely add the engine.

Yes, it’s not that much work to glue the engine together. I skipped the tiny parts and did not even bother to sand away the cutting marks!
