About this Group
The North American F-86 Sabre is possibly the best known jet fighter in the world. Designed and developed in the late 1940s, it is probably best known as the swept-wing fighter that could stand up to the Mig-15 in the Korean Conflict. Variants of the Sabre would eventually fly in the air forces of over 30 different countries. If you count the number of Sabres of all marks produced, including the FJ Fury and the planes license-built by Canada and Australia, there were over 9800 airframes produced, making it the most-produced western jet fighter in history.
The purpose of this group is to celebrate the F-86 Sabre and the FJ Fury, including all of its variants. This group is open to any variant of the F-86 Sabre and the FJ Fury, in any scale, flown by any country. This will not be a permanent group, and we would like all models to be completed and submitted by 30 September. So, head out to your garage and dig out all of your Sabres and Furies, dust off your guides to the differences between the variants, and join us in building models that celebrate this famous fighter.

some paint progress, main surface done with MRP Super Silver

@fiveten, thanks a lot, Spiros

Some good progress, Carl @clipper Seems like not the easiest approach to mask the red but definitely doable with your skills.
-
Looks excellent so far, my friend @johnb!

Great progress, my friend @clipper! Good decision on the "jet intake" decal, looking forward to how it will turn out.

Looks great, Carl (@clipper). I have also been regretting my decision to paint the NMF first then try to mask for the other colors. Hindsight is 20/20. Should have done the colors first so that I wouldn't have […]

Thanks Spiros (@fiveten), John (@johnb), and George (@gblair). It turns out there were a few more defects which showed up upon closer inspection, but I got all of them handled. I was going to mask and paint the […]

Landing gear applied. No issue to have the nose wheel on the ground. I did add a bit of weight in the nose but without the tail this was likely not needed at all. Also made a start with the decals, used […]

@clipper, let' s hope so. Would be nice to see some of these in flying condition. @gblair, thank you, George. Still some upcoming challenges like the fuselage stripes and the decals at the air brakes.

Welcome back, must have been great to spent a couple of days in Ibiza, Alfred @alfred Time to do some serious work behind the now 😉

Welcome back, my friend @alfred! So nice that you were on vacation. Looking forward to your updates!
-
Thanks my friend @gblair!

Primer has really brought all the different parts together, Carl (@clipper). Looks ready for the paint.
-
It is always nice to see that you have put enough weight in the nose to keep the wheel on the tarmac, Spiros (@fiveten). Looking very nice as you near the end.
-
Really looking nice, John (@johnb). Getting very close to the end.
-
Oh, I think Europe is going to be rather loud with jet model airplane noises now with both you and Spiros getting close to finishing! 🙂

Today I returned from a short vacation in Ibiza and will be back at the bench soon. I’ve been reading your updates with much interest and happy to see you guys have all made good progress with your respective b […]
