This is the oldish Kinetic big scale F-86F-30 that is reputedly a scaled-up version of the Academy 1/48 kit. Over the years, I have gradually acquired the fixes to the intake lip and MG blast panels, as well as photo etch for the interior and some quality decals. It's big, but the swept wings may allow it to fit in my existing display cabinets. Now that I have more confidence with acrylic metal coats, it seems like the right time to build it. The markings will be for Major John H Glenn's MiG Mad Marine - 25th FG, 59th FW in Korea in 1953 - in which he shot down three MiG 15s. This is, of course, the same John Glenn who became an astronaut in the Mercury program. I really like the markings, my second favourite after "The Huff". I will keep this build simple. No exposed engine. Just the usual enhanced details in the cockpit. Hope you like it.
