Right, I am back for another bash at this kit.
The "bump" on the nose does not exist according to my references so off it came.
The cheek inlets were cleaned up and so was the mess left over from the nose bump.
The probes on the tail fin were not the best thing since sliced bread, so a quick measure up and cut them off.
This is when the fun started.
The probes were moulded onto the Port side of the fuselage . So when I went to drill the holes to fit the replacements the top one screwed to the side, and nearly through the tail fin. Damn it. I took a deep breadth and decided to cut a notch out of the fin into which gave me a flat surface to drill accurately .
Starting with the lower one as I let the Green Stuff do its thing.
After filing and sanding the top one and cutting a notch out, I found out that when I drilled the hole it veered to the Port side.
So how do I fill this notch and drill a hole?
Simple? I got some stock plastic struct and drilled a hole down the length of it .
Then measured up and cut an angle across it.
And the hole is still there, so I deepened it.
All that is left to do is to shape it to fit in profile and then fix it into position.
Until then.
Take care .
