Thanks gentlemen. @johnb, the entire room is white by now! @eb801, sadly no mask – I am very cautious with resin though, probably should be so with plastic too? @fiveten, fingertip grown back OK and almost as it was before.

    More dryfitting. . . . . .

Been filing and sanding all evening

and testfitting every now and then.

I just added the Emil exhaust and pan to check how long back I need to make a cut for the exhaust.

And of course I did sand just a bit too much

easily correted by LqS, and it will need a lot more of that anyway.

Some LqS will be brushed on and then it will have to cure a few days again. I am now thinking of getting the plastic assembled as it is beginning to be really important how it all fits with the nose. Tune in again later to check.

A lot of work indeed, but you are close to a perfect DB nose, Erik @airbum

And it is tune-in again time on this one @eb801, @johnb and @fiveten

    Kit plastic!

I assembled the fuselage minus the nose.

As it is becoming more important with how the nose fits, I have moved on to assemble the fuselage.

First it got some seatbelts from Fine Molds. They did put up a small fight, but ended up being acceptable.

Probably some more assembly, or perhaps dryfitting the nose next time?

Great, my friend @airbum! The seat belts are much more than acceptable, they look superlative!

    Looks great, Erik @airbum
To me those seatbelts are great as well. A lot of details.

    It’s got wings!

    but the wrong ones!

To convert this to an early Mk.I it needs fabric wings, but to add the aftermarket resin wings you have to use the roots from the metal-clad wing.

It wil have to fully cure to enable further surgery.

While we wait, I made a blanking plate for the original air intake as a “109” intake has to be added on the side.

There are two fairings in the kit, one has been glued in place, the other one is used as a template for the blanking plate. Fit looks OK to me.

next up I think it will be time to cut off the wings – or more sanding and dryfitting and filing and dryfitting and sanding and – you get the picture – of the nose.

Erik @airbum - Holy cow! That's an awful lot of work. Fairing looks good. Do you already have the fabric resin wings? Are those what you posted photos of previously? So you have to cut off those metal wings right at the root and that's why you you went ahead and installed them or am I missing something?

As our friend @eb801 said, this is such a massive amount of work, my friend @airbum!
An excellent job down to every respect that is joyfully followed!
    Looking forward to your progress!

More scratch building done and even more on the way, Erik @airbum
    Amazing work.

Thanks gents. It is a joy to build this thing, and even though it had no impact historically, it is a very interesting sentence in the history of pre-war efforts to stem the expected tide, albeit just a month or two too late.

Eric @eb801, the wings need to be cut at the long plate that runs the length just outside the wheels, as that is where the wings comes off on the real thing for transport etc. The wings I showed earlier is indeed the ones I shall use, even though there are a few inaccuracied that may need to be adressed.
