Thanks, gentlemen. No, didn’t melt in the ‘heatwave’. I swear, if the wind blows harder than 20 mph, the rain falls for more than three days, or we have four sunny days in a row, this country declares a state of emergency.
Anyway, taking time ff the Indianapolis this morning, and got the first layer of paint on the Orca. I mixed Tamika flat black with some Imperial Navy green - although the green doesn’t show in the photos, there’s the slightest hint in ‘reality’.
The layering and roughening of some of the hull in places (replicating repair) gives a real sense of a hard worked boat, and I’m happier than I thought I’d be with the result. Should look nice with some weathering. Also, the grain of the wood has come through subtly, an added bonus.
That’s enough of trying to sound like a real modeler, hell, if you swallow this stuff you’ll buy anything. Having a fun day today - some more photo etch on the Indi (switch channels for that show). Number one son is down with his fiancé later. The sun is shining. The teenagers are still asleep. And I’m off down to the village bakery for croissants and jam tarts.
...and it’s Saturday, life ain’t bad.
