"Don't worry Scotty, it's already warped".

David, I am looking forward to seeing the engines aglow.

What David really looks like while he is building this kit...

Fascinating...it seems that the potential for joy in this endeavour has no actual relational correlate with quality, fit, and ease. Illogical, not terribly rational, and has no predictive function at all. Apparently joy can be had from struggle and hard work. Such is the case with having to construct a jig just to actually manufacture something akin to a parrallel alignment of the warp drive nacelles. Most illogical...

Yes, very witty, James. Very dry. And too bloody close to the truth, actually.

Oops, better be careful, may end up novichoked. Of course I meant ‘Putin’, Jeff. Lovely man.

Looking really promising, the model that is.
David, not everything we see on the Internet is reliable.

Good idea about making a jig to keep things aligned while gluing.

Darn, Peter, I’m sure that was the instructional video I used to learn soldering...

I’m quite happy with the look I got in the warp nacelles; although they don’t look quite like the flickering effect of the original, I was aiming for something of the ethereal 60’s trippy look and it’s fine. One learning curve at a time, huh? The warp drive effect will counterpoint the realistic and battleweary Enterprise I’m going for. I know 1701 was a ‘science’ vessel, but Kirk (and the show) was one big contradiction - “we come in peace, phasers set to kill, men”.
