    Erik, @airbum
It has been a while since I have left a comment on this build journal. I am very impressed with the details in it's looking very good with the primer applied. I tend to agree with Pedro, the rivets will not look as prominent after a few more coats of color paint. You are doing some amazing work here, and I look forward to your next installment.

Soon I hope to be working on my V-14 Udet machine, and again I thank you for the information you supplied me with. 🙂

@johnb, @fiveten, @lgardner and @holzhamer thanks gents – as always you leave kind and often useful comments – really makes a difference in my humble opinion!

    I see blue!

    Time for some 65!

A few weeks back (!) I gave it the first round of thin Xtracolor light blue, and today it got another thin layer

I think that will be the last round of 65 and now it will have to cure before masking for the upper colors!

As it still needs two colors it is too early to reveal the final markings of this one – tune in again in a few weeks and it may be closer to getting the markings (no points for guessing just yet)

    @fiveten and @johnb, the counting continues. . . .

    71

    71? –yes, 71 it is

with 65 fully cured it was time for some major masking, and a trip to the paintshop.

As can be seen it got a full, light coat of the 71, then another layer to get the areas that need 71 fully covered. Classic LW color scheme approaching!

next up, I am able to reveal it will be 70, and with that an early machine. Tune in again later to check what it will be

    Nice "71", my friend @airbum!
Love the "gum soft edge" trick!

Looking great and still shiny 71, Erik @airbum
Those early schemes do look great on the Emils.

@fiveten, now 70 has been added.
@holzhamer, indeed – just weeks away, not months I hope
@johnb, indeed a nice cs, even if the difference between 70 and 71 is not the biggest one around.

    70

was the last major color to be added

and with that painted it was time to pull the maskingtape

the only “casualty” so far is the flap on the oilcooler.

With this it is off to dry for a week or two, then it is detailpainting (and a few touch-ups)

next up perhaps a last progress before decals – or maybe after decals. That also means you are welcome to post your guess on the final décor! (just to impress your cat – no prize here)

    Good progress there Erik! @airbum
Which paint brand are you using? Am asking because the contrast 70/71 is very low. It reminds me more of the maritime greens to be honest.
I know this is not a consensual argument and certainly not a criticism mate

Thanks gents. @holzhamer, I personally agree with your observation regarding the contrast. I use Xtracolor enamel, but I hope when decals are added and some matt varnish added it will improve a bit. I suppose it also have something with the dark background and the led-lights, so hopefully it will improve out in the sun one day? Time will tell 🙂

Very nice paint work, Erik @airbum
The contrast difference on 70/71 is not that big in general I think, also with Vallejo the difference is minor.

    OK gents, another small update @fiveten, @holzhamer, @johnb, @lgardner, @j-healy, @eb801, @davem, @gblair, @chinesegeorge and @faraomike

    Decals!

I know – still need a lot of minor work, but I had to start adding some decals

The opacity on my AM decals are just perfect

sadly that is because they are thick – really thick! I have now given them 3 rounds of solve, and they still do not wanna know of the holes etc in the surface!

I shall keep on adding more a few times, but not really expecting them ot behave. Perhaps I need to make some masks and paint the larger parts on?

Anyone got a guess yet? – tune in for the finals one of these coming days…weeks…months – the garden is asking for TLC!

Yep, those decals are nice but thick, my friend @airbum! Hope they will finally settle down these holes...
