First thing this morning, after having my cup of coffee and reading the posts on iModeler, was to remove the patafix dots on the upper surfaces. To me the outcome of the green dots is not too bad. Some weathering may improve the looks even further. Next will be to apply the RLM76 on the sides of the fuselage and the tail.

For the demarcation line, based on Erik's @airbum remark, I noticed that this line is indeed not a sharp line but blurred as seen on the last picture. With masking tape this cannot be achieved. So slightly changed my tactics and came up with the following, let's hope it will work. Creating a very thin worm of patafix and just place it over the existing dots. With a cocktail stick it can be formed nicely around them. I assume it will give the right demarcation line effect and still keep the dots as they should look like.

Everything what should not be RLM76 is masked.

After applying RLM76 comes the hardest part, waiting till the has suffiently dried before removing the masks.

I think your green spots came out perfectly, John (@johnb), and look exactly like the photo. Well done.

    John @johnb
I like how this looks ! I did something very similar when I painted the Revell / Pro Modeler 1/48 scale Ta-154 Moskito. At first I was not happy with the outcome, so I ended up having to do it over again. I think the problem I had was I painted the model while holding the airbrush too close to the surface of the kit.

I don't think you will have this problem, as your 109 is looking very good from here !

I too am anxious to see how it looks with the masking removed. Well done my friend !

I have not had much time lately to do model building work. I did manage to get in a little bench time today, but it was spent working on my B-24 Tubarao.

Hopefully I will soon have an update for the 109's I have underway.

Indeed your 109 is looking just like the one in the photo. Outstanding work ! 🙂

@gblair, @lgardner, thanks a lot. I do hope to find some time today to get the masks removed.

And here she is with all the masks and dots removed. It could have been done better but in general not too bad to my opinion. The RLM79/76 demarcation is slightly blurred, which I was exactly hoping for. I think the dots could have been made slightly smaller. Looking forward to your thoughts and ideas for improvements.
