About this Group
On 28/3 2023 it will be 100 years since the Regia Aeronautica was established as an independent force. Untill then it had been part of the army. When Italy decided to end the Kingdom and establish the Italian Republic it was renamed Aeronautica Militare on the 18/6 1946.
Depending on the number of groups established in the meantime, and not least the interest this group may create, it will end no later than 18/6 2026 when the Aeronautica Militare will be 80.
It is thought of as a WIP group, and anything connected to the force throughout these 100 years will be accepted.

Indeed, Chuck (@uscusn). It does look very nice. One of the pitfalls of more modern aircraft models are the need for stencils. It's one of those tasks that needs to be done in conjunction with another build so […]

Decals are looking great, Chuck (@uscusn). Interesting that there as so many stencils. My first assignment in the Air Force was at Luke AFB, which at that time was the training base for NATO F-104 pilots. I […]

The basic decal scheme is simple for the Italian F-104S, roundels and squadron codes, it is the stencils that will take awhile to apply. Geez, like an F-4. Using the decal set from Hannants, they do lay […]

Thanks gentlemen, I like this scheme of Dk Green/Dk Grey over a Natural Metal undersurfaces.

Great models, Allan J Withers (@kalamazoo). Helicopters are a little rare on iModeler, especially in Italian markings. I have made a few trips in the Huey, so you have reawakened my need to go dig one out of the […]
