    Don't know if this has anything to do with the flaps up or down. The restored Corsair's all seem to have the step cutout in the right inner flap. Could be why they're kept lowered.

    Glad Louis settled the "flap" for us all. I did notice in photos that when crews serviced the wing gun bays they often disconnected the outer wing flap to the right of the wing fold and let it hang straight down suspended by hanger cables. Knowing all this, we corsair modelers can now move forward, John@johnb

    @eb801, I'm glad this is settled indeed. The build continues.
    @fiveten, thank you, Spiros.

    Decided to go for these colors to create the tri-color scheme.

    Let me know how you like the Model Air, John (@johnb). I don't use them a lot, but sometimes they work great, and sometimes not so much.

    @gblair, my experience so far with Model Air is quite good, although I have not that much to compare with, I do think the paint sprays quite okay. Even though they say it is ready for airbrush, I still thin it with a 1:1 ratio.

    Glad ModelAir is working for you, John (@johnb). I haven't tried thinning the paint that much. I usually add about 20% thinner.

    @gblair, tried less thinning at first but that didn't work with my airbrush, which is not a quality one, so maybe less thinning is possible with better airbrushes. Still want to try some other brands as well to get a better experience.

    Mine also has trouble with thicker paints, John (@johnb). It will spray, but lots of clogs and inconsistent spray.

    Pre-shading performed. Finally painting can start.

    I’ve always had great results with Model Air but I do thin it a tad with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner and a drop or two of Vallejo Airbrush Flow Improver. Thinning paint to the right consistency varies from paint brand to paint brand. An art in itself and takes a long time to master seems to me. But you’re off and running in the paint shop dept. now, John @johnb. Looking forward to how it turns out.

    By the way, any window cleaner with ammonia (like Windex) works well with removing unwanted acrylic paint. A little goes a long way. Dab the offending dried paint with a cotton stick tip, let sit for a bit and rub gently. Apply again if needed.

    Be sure to clean your airbrush thoroughly because Vallejo paints tend to clog the needle as well as the paint cup unlike Tamiya acrylics I have found.

    Preshading looks great, John (@johnb). Hopefully it will show under the dark paint. Like Eric (@eb801), I also use Windex to remove unwanted acrylic paint. Alcohol (90% +) will also work, but it is stronger than Windex, so care must be taken. I hate to admit it, but I have been known to soak entire subassemblies in Windex or alcohol and repaint them.

    I can't wait to see how it looks once you bring it out of the paint shop. Very Nice !
