    @eb801, thank you, Eric. I agree, thinning Vallejo Model Air is still needed, sometimes I even go for a 1:1 ratio with thinner and do add some drops of improver as well. The clogging is also what ?I face from time to time. Might try some other brands as well to get different opinions.

    @gblair, thanks, George. Might be difficult to observe on the upper surface indeed.

    @lgardner, thank you, Louis.

    @fiveten, thanks, Spiros

    Lower surface of the fuselage is painted Insignia White (Vallejo 71.279) and the lower surface of the wings are painted Intermediate blue (Vallejo 71.299). I think the white might require another layer.

    I was wrong, John (@johnb). You pulled off some really nice shading on both the bottom and the top of your plane. Well done.

    The white does need one more thin coat, @johnb. But this is really looking good.

    Excellent progress, my friend @johnb! Yes, another layer of white is not a bad idea!

    @robertandy, thank you, Rob

    @gblair, thanks, George. Not sure what you were wrong about. All your comments are very helpful.

    @tcinla, thank you, Tom. Exactly my thought, the pre-shading shines through just a bit too much.

    @fiveten, thanks a lot, Spiros

    Another round of insignia white at the lower surface, I think this should do it.
    Upper surface of the wings painted as well. Together with all the white on the picture, they do look very dark.

    That second coat of white looks just right now. You’re on your way to the final stretch, John @johnb

    To get soft demarcation lines I used very thick "worms" for masking.

    After painting and removing the masks, this is the result. A pity that the pre-shading is not that clearly visible anymore. I might go for a lighter shade on the center of the panels.

    And as usual, something had to go wrong, lifting the last mask also lifted some of the paint on the tail. Should be a fairly easy repair.

    The preshading looks great on the two lighter colors, John (@johnb), but are having a hard time peeking out through the darker blue. Your post-shading will fix that. Looking good.

    One thing about painting these war weary Pacific Corsairs is that the elements and jungle rot, plus salt water, beat up the overall surface paint so badly that when we make our own paint goof ups, it actually looks ok. Sometimes that is. Very nice progress, John @johnb
