This is coming along very nicely Gary @gwskat. Good thing you’re going with the folded wings. I discovered the hard way that this kit was not designed to display the wings in the down position.

    Thanks All!

Eric, And the wings up is not well engineered as well. That's why I am using my own support system shown in an earlier post.

Louis...maybe Kitsworld thinking is what you suggested, paint white prior to applying the decals. But there were no instructions to do so...that I saw. Oh well, model/live and learn.

Your seafire looks great with the decals on - nice saves!

Always interesting to see how a great modeller responds when a kit puts up a bit of a fight, Gary. As ever exemplary stuff. I know you are not a moaner, so I’ll say it - you are doing a great job with what looks like a less than straightforward build, especially with the aftermarket stuff too!

No matter how good a modeler you are @gwskat, and you are indeed a good modeler, I didn't expect this to end up as it is, i.e., Really Good. Mostly because I didn't think that much of the raw material (having built quite a few of them). But this has become something quite extraordinary - all due to what you brought to the battle.

    Thanks, Gavin! @snowman
Sometimes!...sometimes the labor is part of the fun. A few snags a long the way but this has been a fun build.

    Hey All.
    Mid weekend update:

Added Tamiya Red, Green, Yellow Clears to the recognition lights. Pleased with the look of the previous added aluminum foil behind the paint. Gives it a nice shine.

    Added the legs and covers:

Overall dark wash on the panel lines. Doesn't show up very well in the pics. It may need another go.
Added cockpit seat and harness belts:

Assembled the contra props using the kits spinners and Barracuda Prop Blades:

Just for grins and giggles...Dry fitted the engine and props just to see what She's going to look like. Likin' it!

All in all I'm pretty pleased with the progress and look.

Until next time, Have a great Easter and as always KEEP IT FUN!

    Another quick update:
Added a second, a bit darker wash.
    Glued in engine.
    Primed contra props.
Cut out and trimmed up the Squadron Vac canopy.

    Thanks for following...KEEP IT FUN!
