I finally got some paint on this one. I went with Tamiya Silver Leaf overall. It’s a lacquer that will stand up to some enamel washes. These planes don’t seem to have a lot of panel variations, but they do exhibit grunge along panel lines.

John that looks great - lots of lumps and bumps add a lot of interest to the silver surface!
Tiny gaps filled with white glue. Decals applied. I have a few small areas to touch up with paint. Then Future and some washes.
Amazing work is on display right here ! Well done John, you about have your MiG wrapped up.
Really good job
Well done John, It is the one early MiG I do not have in the stash or ever built is the Farmer. A couple of 15's and a 17, but your 19 is quite a motivational factor to pick one up. Alnost have this one wrapped up.
Looking really good! Can't wait to see the headline post.
Just a few bits and a clear coat to go now.

This will be the last update. I’ll have it finished by Sunday. Got the landing gear and final clear coat on today.
Looks great, John! It is indeed a rare bird. I have just seen that Kovozavody released a new tool MiG-19S in my preferred scale, 1:72.
I will not buy new kits, I will not buy new kits... 🙂
Hi Csaba. I saw that Kovozavody kit. Is that a new tool?
Hi John, according to the various sources on the interweb, it is a new tool.

Sprue pics look good. I may have to get one.
Sebastijan, I wasn’t sure if you needed pictures posted here to use in the final reveal, so here’s a few if you can’t get them from the main page.
