@chinesegeorge WOW George that is fantastic! I made some good progress last week but the weather had other things in mind. Sunday was terrible and we got called out 4 times to cut up trees from roadways due to storms. And now I am recovering a yer worth of FD records which is seriously cutting into my modeling time :). But I digress…that look fantastic

Sorry to hear about your weather problems, Cricket @bikequeen, we’ve had very heavy rain which has caused the river to burst its banks in places, and it’s a big river. Luckily we live far enough away not to be directly effected, but it has caused major problems in the city, including slowing down deliveries of modelling related products. Oh well, that’s life and we have to learn to cope with it. Happy modelling, keep up the great work on the Honda.

….the week before last I made a lot of progress on the Honda RC 166. Shot pics and was gunna share them. Sunday I met with the woman that had my old job at the fire dept. I agreed to take it back as it was too much for her. Meanwhile a cold front was moving in and about 1 pm it hit.

I was enjoying a nice nap and BOOM! Spent the rest of the day cleaning trees out of the roads for the fire dept.

Monday through yesterday I spent over 40 hours recovering one year worth of fire dept records….SIGH. But it’s done now and I can post my Honda progress pics but first here is Sunday's pics 🙂 Off topics photos follow

Before the feces hot the fan this week and I became fully employed again with FD (what was I thinking) :). I made this progress on the bike. It has amazing detail for a 1/12 scale bike, tiny and fragile but fun to build.

The engine required paint mixing which required airbrush….GASP. So i bit my lip and painted the parts, colors didnt quite match the photos but I left it. Airbrushing is still a skill I need to master.

I am still waiting on the Tamiya Detail-Up chain from Poland it finally shipped.

The frame is delicate and the parts are ready to assemble maybe this weekend 😉

I did the front wheel and it was pretty cool. Wanted the metal Detail-Up set but it isn’t available anywhere in the world…but these wheels are pretty cool. Will look a bit better with panel line detailer. Separate post for wheel coming

    So here ya go.

    Here’s the clutch

Here is the front wheel (I put the completed wheel on the half assembled fork but didn’t take pics)

And the spring loaded front fork….that little tiny “C” clip was a real pain to put on 🙂

@bikequeen - Fantastic work Cricket! WOW! The detailed clutch is great, the different paint colors in the engine look really realistic. Very nice!

The detail is amazing, as is the subtle colors you are getting on the engine, Cricket (@bikequeen). Are you using spray cans for the paint, or are you brush painting? Your great work is giving me the itch to build another motorcycle. Send the rain my way, Cricket. We just started our 3rd month of daily temps above 100, with 40 or more days above 105. That is 10 to 15 degrees above normal. We are also in our 3rd month without any rain. We haven't been able to water outside since early June.

@gblair @brithebuilder Come on guys it’s not that good, but thanks.

The engine is spray Gloss Aluminum, the rest is mixed per instructions and airbrushed …. GASP …. The tiny parts are spray can. I dont brush paint anything unless it’s very small and there isn’t the color I need in a can 🙂

George…Yeah Sundays storms made for a gorgeous week weather wise, but the heat is back and will remain for a least the upcoming week…back to the upper 90’s. We had about 6 inches of rain in about 5 days. This is the wildest summer weather I have seen in the 19 years Ive been here.

BTW, Brian and George, the 3D printer was sent back…..just dont have the room 🙁

Amazing progress and superb looks on your Honda, my friend @bikequeen!
P.S. These weather conditions were really harsh, I can imagine how busy you were, cleaning those fallen trees.

    Amazing result, Cricket @bikequeen
So much detail in this kit.
Nature is not making it easy for us lately although I do expect more of those extremes. Your doing some amazing and important work at the fire department. Thanks for that.
A pity you had to return the 3D printer.
