Ha ha, @bikequeen, @fiveten, I keep wanting to call it the African Queen even though I know it’s not correct, or even politically correct, these days.

@fiveten @chinesegeorge. I did not know that about the African Queen and this bike GREAT film. And I call myself Bike Queen so no worries about politically correct on my end 😉

The rest are progress pics….I also painted the seat parts and they came out really well! Twice I used the airbrush :). YAY me 😉

It sounds like you just started using an airbrush, Cricket (@bikequeen). Aren't they fun? I have also had problems getting my paint to dry recently. Lots of humidity in central Texas right now.

Wow that frame looks brilliant Cricket (@bikequeen) - I didn't even know Tamiya did a metallic black - It looks awesome. Well done and well done on the airbrush work, looks professional. You'll never go back now.

@gblair @anthonyricco i have used the airbrush in the past, I dont like them, way to much work and i am to impatient :). I used the airbrush on the seat part and the gold parts on the engine, the rest is mostly Tamiya rattle cans :). Or the tiny stuff is hand painted. The layout of my house etc etc makes airbrushing difficult not the mention the clean up :/

Paintwork is nicely done, Cricket @bikequeen
Those smaller parts I also hand paint them.

Engine installed in frame and fuel ejectors hooked up…but that has to be wrong as 2 of those lines must be spark plugs!?

And I got a new phone so these images are HUGE!

Throttle body assembly ready to install. I made my own “zip ties” 🙂

If anyone builds this kit label the hoses etc because near the end there will be about 8 of them

    Very nice progress, Cricket @bikequeen
Your new phone's picture quality is very good, lots of details to be seen.
The "zip ties" do look great and your tip about labelling those hoses is very helpful.

Looks great, Cricket (@bikequeen). I think being crowded is a normal thing. We moved to a new house a year ago, and I ended up with quite a bit of room for my hobbies. The first thing I did was build a work area where everything was within arm's reach. So, everything is still crowded in one area. I used the same "zip ties" on my BMW R75. I wish I had the foresight to label all the tubes and hoses on the BMW, because it was a nightmare toward the end trying to figure out where all the loose ends should go. I use rattle cans quite a bit, mainly because it seems to take forever to clean the airbrush after I use it. Your results with the airbrush are very good, and it is a useful tool for spraying those metallic colors that you mixed.

@bikequeen - it's looking fantastic Cricket. Your new phone takes great pics. I love being able to see the detail that well. Tamiya's metallic black is a great color, love the amount of metal flake in it and the flat coat over the top is a great finish. I agree on the airbrush. I use mine occasionally but to set it up and clean it after usually doesn't feel worth it. I do so much detail, small brush painting that I normally don't need it anyway, and when I do have to spray larger areas, the rattle cans are usually fine.

Great progress, Cricket @bikequeen, I don’t use an airbrush purely for domestic reasons, so it’s rattle cans and hand painting for me. Good idea to label all those hoses, it will make it that much easier when it comes to connecting them up. What new phone did you get?
