@bikequeen, this is indeed the latest green color of Kawasaki. I do prefer this green more than the original green of Kawasaki in its early years. Recently visited a Yamaha dealer and it was really difficult to control myself to not buy a new bike 🤭

@johnb green is not my favorite color but i like this green. It has a base coat of Mica Silver then i airbrushed a couple coats of clear green over it. I love the new airbrush but I discovered yesterday there was an air leak which i fixed with Teflon tape and that might explain why I had so much trouble with the AK Chrome

Here is yesterday and today’s progress. The bike got knocked off the kitchen table yesterday, not much damage and I repaired it quickly. During today’s work I discovered that the rear wheel got jarred loose and I had to repair all that. The front wheel wasn't a picnic either 🙁

I did the exhaust system yesterday and tried to “blue” it but the new airbrush wasnt working right….turns out i had an air leak and the pressure was dropping to nil but now I got that fixed so next time it should kick you know what 🙂

I did the PE brake rotors for the front, came out okay, but man I loath CA glue :***(

I wasn’t going to add the clutch reservoir either but decide to after all…there is a lot of tiny detail that will never be seen, but I got OCD and did it all anyway

So here is the handlebar assembly…still have some paint to do on it, and a quick mock up of the bike. Quite a bit more to go on this one and frankly I’m getting a bit burned out 🙁 think it’s time to walk away fro a bit after this one 🙂

Nice work, Cricket @bikequeen, glad there wasn’t too much damage after its fall. Sometimes a break is called for.

Looks excellent, my friend @bikewueen! Great tgat minimal fixable damage was done from the dropping. Yup, when approaching burnout, better ease-off a bit.

    Really nice result, Cricket @bikequeen
Glad the bike didn't suffer too much from the dropping experience.
Take it easy before things get worse.

@chinesegeaorge @johnb @fiveten thanks guys it’s not as good as I saw in my minds eye bit I like it. I have one more day to play with the new airbrush before the weather turns again :). And I have the front fairing to cover with decals many many more than the last bike

Hi peeps! Where to start, it’s been a long weird week here at the secret Batcave somewhere in west Tennessee. Made tons of progress and discovered a few tricks have some photos but dont want to choke the group.

    Part 1 …

First I did some custom work on air intake and cooling vents

I don’t have the proper metal vents fro the front cowing so I cut them out of some unused metal radiator PE parts

    More in the next post

    Part 2 …

I have achieved the elusive AK Chrome finish using my new kick A$$ airbrush the photos dont do it justice so I will show them in a later post

. This airbrush may well change the way I paint models it simply amazing and I use 1/4 of the paint i used to. Its makes the Paasche VR look like a toy. I also spray the side fairings with AK Stainless steel. I am really going to love these paints.

In other news i bought this Carbon Fiber decal set for the other ninja but didn't use it. so I tried my hand at with this one. Following the trick i learned from Plasmo on YouTube i applied the decals. I used the MicroSet which did nothing but bead up and roll off. I continued on with MicroSol and i found it too to be useless. So I moved on to tried and true Walther’s SolvaSet. Now comes the trick I “borrowed” from Plasmo. I soaked the decals in hot water. Not tepid but hot. Once applied and SolvaSet on them I het them with a hairdryer. It was scary let me tell you and a slight learning curve. After learning a technique they started to come out great! I had to be careful as the second decal was blown off the pat LOL. Once I got it figured out it worked flawlessly the decals just laid down like shrink wrap I kept wiping it down with a bit of SolvaSet and applied more heat. Had some bubbles which were problematic but I continued on.

There are almost 90 decals in this set crazy expensive on ebay etc etc but Spot Model in Spain had them at half the price so I grabbed them. (GREAT company BTW)

Here are some of the progress shots….tons more to be applied to the front cowling inside and out. Not done yet as I was driving my husband nuts with the hairdryer :/

I added a few more details

I applied the kit decals and came across this one so I zoomed in and read it…had a good chuckle. Incidentally i saw a top 10 fastest bike on YouTube the Ninja Carbon street machine was number 2, the number 1 machine was this one, the Ninja H2R (R stands for racing). Top speed 250 MPH and sticker price of $55,000…who would ride a bike at 250 MPH? Good grief! Anyway here is the sticker they put on the bike, and the model, LOL

    Part 3 …

Ok so it’s all done except for the front and side cowlings still waning on tons O decals. I achieved the elusive AK Chrome as mentioned before but the photos do not do it justice and I could not find a way to light it properly so it looks mottled. 🙁

So here it is in all its glory, Studio 27 carbon fiber decals, Hobby Design PE and resin parts. My own brake and clutch reservoirs. Still need to add speedometer cable. Lots of dust in the photos 🙁

So far I’m happy with it…some imperfections
