    Decaling commenced...

Since #39768 "Dusty" is well modelled, and the obvious choice due to her nose art, I decided to depict a lesser, "simpler" example, the #39737, as it seemingly stood in 1942. Only "problem" the lack of wing walk lines that were normally applied (they are not provided by the kit): well, let's suppose they were not applied during early days (or in my Night Fighter dreams! 🙂 ).

Looks great already, even without the walk lines, Spiros @fiveten

Spiros, it's your build, so you get to decide what looks good. Definitely not something I would miss @fiveten.

Looking good Spiros, now don't forget to add the wing antenna that is not included in the kit.

@fiveten - no red walk lines sound fine to me. Gives it more of a sinister accent anyway. What about “wearing down” those red prop lines a tad to continue it? Looking good n nasty Spiros!

Thanks my friend @eb801! Wearing down the red prop lines sounds a great idea.

    Putting together the landing gear...

As my friend @stephen-w-towle pointed out earlier, some say the MLG kit attachment points are located aft of their correct position that they have in reality: indeed, from the very helpful photo Stephen provided, it is obvious that the main leg should more or less be located at the very front of the bay. I do not know why AMT went for the wrong position, but I would risk an assumption that the went for it as to avoid severe tail sitting! Thanks for stopping by!

    Landing gear attached...

I twerked the MLG legs within the bays, in order to attach them at the correct positions (which are not the kit suggested ones). Had to shave off some (invisible) parts of them, as well. I also affixed two pieces of mesh onto the bays' flat top walls, to somehow make them look less bland... Anyways, here she is, standing on her feet... Thanks for stopping by!

Good to see that she is no tail sitter.
At first the gear looked a bit fragile to me, but it seems to be strong enough to carry her.

Indeed, the gear looked too clunky when unassembled, but when assembled it was (trans)formed ito some kind of quite strong frame structure.
