    John, @johnb
I have a big glass display case in which this model will eventually stay. It should fit, although it will be a tight fit with little or no extra room nearby. However, this one will be taller than most of my other 1/32 scale aircraft models when it is completed, so I should be able to park a Bf-109 or two under the wings. Time will tell...

Yes building the radiators in this fashion saves you some headaches. It is much easier this way, and full credit must go to my fellow Uhu builder Spiros @fiveten

for coming up with this building method.

I masked off the cockpit, and sprayed the upper surfaces in overall RLM 75 using Model Master enamels.

This is using up the last of my existing stash. So I have been looking at other model paint companies to see which ones I will be using to replace my quickly depleting supplies of MM enamels... I'm an old dinosaur, and still prefer enamels over acrylics. The old school enamels don't seem to have adhesion problems like acrylics do.

The next step is to spray on random squiggly lines on top of this RLM 75 using RLM 76 color. Please stay tuned for updates, and as usual, comments are encouraged.

Good to see you back in action, Louis, I'm not sure you really need a magnifying light to see this monster.

Yep, that's a great, soilid progress, my friend @lgardner! Your Uhu us coming along beautifully! Hope you'll find alternative solutions for your enamels soon. My Uhu might take a bit (OK, not a lot) of time to reappear here, as my 1/32 Sukhoi 27 is prioritized from today.
Looking forward to your progress; and, YES, it is just great to see you here again!

@lgardner - when you do the squiggly mirror-wave pattern (aka "the cloudy look") make like you're three different workers in the factory paint shop, each with a spray gun - one working one wing, one the other, and one starting at the tail and working forward. One just wants to get it over and has the nozzle at max, one gets involved in design and has the nozzle tight, and one just sprays all over with the nozzle in "neutral". Neatness definitely doesn't count when doing that scheme.

    Great progress, Louis @lgardner
May I ask you what reference book you have on your workbench.
The amount of pages and illustrations look great.

    Thanks John ! @johnb

The book is a very good one. It's called "Warplanes of the Third Reich" by William Green. I have a similar book titled "Warplanes of the Luftwaffe" Combat Aircraft of Hitler's Luftwaffe 1939-1945"... and this one is edited by David Donald. I highly recommend both of them, as they cover some very well known aircraft, and then some that are not so well known. It's loaded with pictures and drawings, it even has a few cutaway drawings that show the interior of some of these aircraft. Highly recommended !

Hope this helps to answer your question. Take care my friend.

    @lgardner, thanks Louis.
I do have the book from David Donald and agree that this one is a valuable piece of reference material.
Definitely will go and try to find the book from William Green.

Thanks gentlemen for the kind words. I have completed the RLM 76 paint using a Wellenmuster type of camouflage. It’s just a bunch of randomly shaped squiggly lines. Overall I really like how it looks. I’ll try to get a few pictures of the plane as it looks right now. Once I do that I’ll post them here.

Take care my friends, and Happy Father’s Day if it’s appropriate for you.

Thank you all for the kind words and compliments. It's been a very busy day today, and my time on Imodeler is limited tonight. Here are the pictures of the Uhu, showing the upper camouflage patterns.

It took me a while, and a lot of paint, but I am very pleased with the end results.

I still have to come back and spray one of the wing undersides black, and also the areas where the exhaust would normally go.

Even the tail section is big on this model. The tail assembly is almost as large as a 1/48 scale P-47.

Once I get this painting I described done, I will post up some more pictures.

    As always, comments are encouraged.

I'm speechless with the results, Louis @lgardner
    That camo came on beautifully.
Can imagine that it took quiet some time to get that done.
