All I did was add a few drops of Vallejo thinner and mixed it right in the airbrush cup.

@eb801, thanks, Eric. My usual approach, so that should work. In most cases I also add a drop of flow improver.

I think I also added a drop of Ammo flow improver too. You usually can't go wrong with Vallejo seems to me, despite what others say. it just needs to be thinned ever so slightly.

Hi John @johnb, sorry I have no experience spraying these paints as I only use rattle cans, which may have been the way to go with such a big model, but I’m sure you’ll get excellent results with your careful preparation, she looks terrific already.

DC-6 looks great with some paint on it, John (@johnb). I have used Vallejo Metals and like them. They say you can use them straight from the bottle, but I dilute mine with about 20% Vallejo Airbrush Thinner. Apply in thin layers until you get what you are looking for. They also seem to be fairly robust once they have dried. I don't use any flow improver, but it couldn't hurt. I haven't had problems with paint drying on the airbrush tip since I quit trying to use regular Vallejo paints in my airbrush. Tamiya and AK Real Colors are still my go-to paints, but I am getting more comfortable with Vallejo Model Air and Vallejo Metals. They seem to work well.

I agree, George @gblair. About 20% Vallejo Airbrush Thinner is just the right amount. I recommend sticking with their airbrush paint instead of the regular mix. Cleans up much easier in the airbrush cup and tip with lacquer thinner then water. Vallejo Air also brush paints quite nicely for touch up and small areas. Tamiya and Vallejo Air are also my go-to's. Not so fond of Ammo Mig products and have not much experience with AK.

Good choices, Erik (@eb801). I use regular Vallejo for brush painting small things, but I could never get it to work reliably in my airbrush. Tamiya always works for me, and I am starting to like Vallejo ModelAir now that I have figured out the dilution. AK Real Colors are just like Tamiya paints, but they have a much larger range of colors. I have never used their Gen 3 paints in my airbrush because they seem to have the same qualities that make regular Vallejo hard to use. AK is a little harder to clean than Tamiya, but 90% alcohol does the trick. Lacquer thinner will also do the trick, but I try to avoid the hazards.

@chinesegeorge, thanks, George. Larger areas, like on this aircraft, might benifit when using rattlecans, but I'm not that confident to spray uniformly using those big cans.

@eb801, @gblair, thank you, I've been using their Model Air series from the beginning of my paintbrush carreer, three or four years ago, they work quite well but I do add some thinner as well, sometimes even up to 40%. Cleaning your airbrush when using acrylics is indeed very easy.

That is the secret I finally learned, John (@johnb). Supposedly ModelAir can be sprayed right from the bottle, which I tried initially. But the secret is they still need to be thinned some to spray well. All was well once I figured that out.

The extra work done by Spiros @fiveten on adding exhausts gave it a lot more detail. Although I had the nacelles already mounted, I still wanted to give it a try and create 'sort of' exhausts as well. Cutting some pieces of metal wire and glueing them in place gives it the following look. Not as nice as Spiros' result. Since the nacelles are already on, it is not the easiest task to fix those small pieces.

Another layer of white applied as well. I will softly polish it once more and give it a final layer.

The exhausts look really great, my friend @johnb, as does the extra white!
