Indeed. Maybe I am just not looking hard enough but I have never seen a period colour photo of a repainted RAAF spitfire in these colours
Went back in with my Mr. Hobby PS770 which has a .18mm nozzle/needle and free handed the Forrest Green Camo to give it a bit of a soft edge which I suspect it had after its re-paint.

Finally got the black ring done on the spinner. It took me 3 attempts to get it to the point where it was acceptable to me. I used a PE template that you use for scribing access panels on aircraft.
