It was just the fact that the kit decals depict Farrell's plane, my friend @eb801! This kit was handed to me by a friend, to build it for him some day (which happened 15 years later...). He liked the boxart a lot, which is a photo of a completed model of Farrell's plane, which looks nice! Still to find actual pics of his plane, but I take it that Monogram researched the subject well.
