    Spiros, @fiveten

The work you have done to improve this old Monogram P-40 has really made it look much better. What really caught my eyes were the lights on the side of the fuselage, the oil and AV gas filler openings in the rear side Lexan and the struts for the landing gear. The paint colors you have chosen also look very good. You are knocking this one out of the ball park ! I had not realized that you were building this one or I would have been following it much sooner. Keep it going my friend. 🙂

Thanks my friend @lgardner! I remember those tiny lights mentioned by you at a past build thread, which was my initiative to replicate them!

I really liked the C/L fuel tank, especially after beefing it up with supporting rods. Sadly ( 🙂 ) AVG Tomahawks never carried external tank (AVG Warhawks did)...

Interestingly, Monogram's box art shows Farrell's Tomahawk with drop tank, but not a single pic was found with a Tomahawk carrying a drop tank. The kit not only provides a tank but also has a humungus hole at the undersides, in order to attach the tank. Suffice to say, this hole has to be filled. Here is the under fuselage hole filled (awaiting sanding), after removal of the dop tank...

    Thanks @tcinla for the advice.

I don't think the early P-40's that were used by the AVG had the fuel line plumbing in place to use a belly tank. I think this upgrade happened later with the P-40C. I'm also happy the pictures I shared with you showing the lights on the side of the fuselage were of help. This build is looking very good. Keep it going ! 🙂

Thanks my friend @lgardner! I was only hoping that Claire Chennault at some point ordered to modify the -Bs to carry drop tanks, after the moaning of his pilots, asking for greater endurance, but no 🙂 !

Here is the aileron tab that disappeared during sanding, made of sheet styr... errrrrrrr, OK, honestly, it was cut out of one of my kids party plates, my usual source of sheet "styrene"... 🙂

Transparencies are also under preparation... Thanks for stopping by!

Nice solution to create the tab, Spiros @fiveten
There are so many materials around the house that can be used for modelling.
Good progress on the transparant parts.
