I masked and sprayed the Mr. Color blue today. I thinned it 1:2, paint to Mr. Levelling Thinner. Great stuff. I only got the tiniest bleed under the masks in 3 spots. I’ll touch it up and begin decaling tommorow.

My cowling paint was a little uneven, so I gave it another thin coat of Mr. Color. Thinned 1:3 paint to Mr. Levelling Thinner. That’s a smooth combo and I plan to use it more for glossy schemes.

The decals were a pleasant surprise. I normally have a strained relationship with Japanese kit decals, but these laid down perfectly over a dried light coat of brushed Future. Warm water with no setting solution, and they conformed nicely. I’ll do a few touch ups, add the final clear coat, and finish her up by Thursday morning.

@j-healy, reading that you just used warm water is amasing stuff - they look like they laid down like a dream. It has been a jou to follow this build, and I am looking forward to the final!

Looks like the Japanese decals behave themselves in this Empire of Japan Group Build. A coincidence? (lol).
    Your job is fantastic, John!

Lucky You! After the setting solutions ate one up I tried just warm water, went on great at first, but silvered like a SOB. Glad you had success. That's gonna be a good looking bird.
