Stabilizers attached, prop rears painted "prop color", a final round of putty commenced...

The engine received some spark plug wire harness form stretched sprue...
Some sanding and we are off to the paint shop.
    Thanks for stopping by!

hey there John@johnb and Spiros@fiveten ...this has nothing to do with your build here, but do you guys know about this app https://acicockpit360.com/? It's a great resource for cockpits although some planes are left out, Check it out.

By the way, I was surprised how large that real life "loop" antenna in the previous photos is. Thicker than I thought.

All looking good here. Enjoying the co-build.

Great progress one the Zero, Spiros @fiveten
The spark plug wires are a great addition and makes the engine look very detailed.
The propellor color is nice as well, which paint did you use for that.

@eb801, that is an amazing program, Eric. Installed it on my chromebook and looks superb.

    Pre-shading

After the silver dried sufficiently, I painted first a layer of the main camouflage color. On top of that I used darkgrey to pre-shade. Next will be the second layer of the main camouflage color.

Thanks my friends @eb801 and @johnb! Eric, I will install this program tonight: seems amazing!
John, I used Humbrol 113 Rust, its shade coming close to the supposed real looks.

Great progress, Spiros (@fiveten). Great idea to use stretched sprue for the engine wires. Really saves a lot of work to add actual wire. Looking forward to the surface paint layers, John (@johnb).

    Basic airframe painting...

I went for a light gray shade that has some greenish hue.
    Thanks for stopping by!

    @fiveten, some great paintwork Spiros
@gblair, thanks George, surface paint on the way.

    Surface paint applied
Seems like Spiros @fiveten and myself are picking up same pace.
Just finished mine as well with the greenish top layer.
    The pre-shading still slightly visible.
Next will be the green lines used for the chosen scheme. Bit nervous to get that done.

Also the propellor blades are done, frontside silver, backside brownish.

You guys have done good work, but for future reference, Tamiya has the proper color already done for Zeros, released when they released their 1/32 A6M2. No hemming and hawing, mixing and hoping. Just thin for airbrushing and - done!

Thanks my friends @tcinla and @gblair!
True, nothing better than having your desired shade ready made...
Worst of all is when you use all your home made brew and then, for whatever reason, you need to TouchUp: your "new" brew will never march the old one... 🙂
