Thanks Spiros, hopefully it will come out as well as yours. Took notes on your WIP as a guide and reference to my Nick.

Time to get this started. First to prepaint the interior components. Seeing so many variations of interior colors for this, Bamboo, some in Aotake, and of course various forms of Japanese interior greens. I went with Tamiya XF-71 Interior Green. Which seemed to match the Green in Eduard's zoom set.

Painted the interior halves and main wheel bays.

Next the interior components, floor rear deck/shelf.

The bulkheads, seats, front side console and gun mount.

Finally the wheel bays, engine cowls, cowl rings and inner wheel bay doors.

Next is to start assembling the cockpit,

    more to follow.

Thanks Eric, what is not shown is the painting of the landing gear and engine components in Steel. Though there is one shot of the crankcase sneaking into one of the images.
Thanks Spiros, your WIP on this kit is a big help as I get started on the assembly.

Nice entry Chuck , with a good , old kit , that remembers my youth . You make a wise choice with Eduard's cockpit set as well with the decals .
Giving some attention is just all this kit needs for taking an impressive Dragonslayer .
Looking forward to the sequel !

Thanks Mike, the kit is pleasantly fairly a bit more detailed than expected. Though the interior is lacking yet enough detail to make it interesting. The zoom set helps it quite a bit.

Will start in the cockpit as usual.

The instruction sheet is of the exploded view style in assembly. Will start with the seats.

The color of the cushions call for a Yellow Ochre, I used Zinc Chromate Yellow for this. Probably not a great choice but other than Yellow 04 or Chrome Yellow. The ZC Yellow I went with not being too yellow.

Using the PE seat belts from Eduards really do help enhance the basic seats.

The forward bulkhead is removed and attached to the cockpit floor.

Next the RH side console in the pilots compartment is installed.

The side pump is supplied in the kit. And attached to floor of the cockpit.

The pilots seat is then attached to the floor.

Next the control stick is installed.

The rear bulkhead is devoid of any detail. Some white glue to attach the radio set face. Might have been better to build an actual radio set and then attach the PE panel.

The rear deck shelf is then attached to the bulkhead. Again maybe some equipment or an antenna should be on the shelf.

The rear bulkhead is then installed in place on the flight deck.

Next the gun mount and seat is then installed.

Next to work on the details on the RH rear compartment of the fuselage.

The RH rear console is attached. Again details not bad.

Then additional control boxes are added from the Eduard's PE set. As a reminder this set is for the Hasegawa kit, but works well in the Nichimo.

The extra details will only help a rather plain gunners compartment.

Next up is to work on the LH side of the interior, and button this up.

    More to follow..

What a great progress, my friend @uscusn! You really managed to bbef up the otherwise plain kit cockpit looks! Love it!
As usual your presentation is equally excellent, a joy to read and follow!
    Looking forward to your progress!

This is one clear instance where PE really helps - very nice!

    Chuck, @uscusn
Thanks for the updates on your Ki-45. I really like how the PE parts improve the overall looks of the "office". Hopefully, I will be posting regular updates on my Hasegawa Toryu's soon. Life has a way of interfering with our hobby...

Your Nichimo kit is looking very good. Keep it going my friend !
