Dimming

The moveable parts did indeed look a bit bright as mentioned in comments

And so I mixed a few drops of IJN green and thinner

Being aware of my own limitations, I masked the lot again, and then some very thin color was airbrushed. I added a few layers wet-in-wet, and it came out OK

next up it will be gloss clear in preparation for decals

Clear

A layer of acrylic clear

A few weeks ago I did add a layer of clear, thinned with water.

It did make a lot of drops on the surface, most likely due to the water in the mix?

After it had dried it did not look too bad.

I have to find out if I water-sand or give it another layer without sanding.

next up I do hope the clear behaves, and decals can be added. Tune in to check.

Did you spray the clear over a shiny surface, Erik (@airbum). Perhaps the water in the mix, plus a shiny surface, cut the surface tension enough to allow problems?

@gblair, right on the spot! I shall try a mix with only thinner next time. The paint was Hannants gloss, so really I asked for trouble here. Room for improvement!

I agree with our friend @gblair for the possible reasons of droplets presence, my friend @airbum. Also maybe a humid environment?
After drying it looks good, though. Looking forward to it!

Luckily it did dry without leaving serious issues.

And just a year later. . . @gblair, @fiveten and @johnb, I did wetsand and gave it another few layers of clear. The same problem with a new brand of acrylic clear (AK) appeared, bur after a few moments I were able to add a few layers wet-in-wet, and it all ended in joy!

Wet, Clear and wheels

Wetsanded the plane.

I wetsanded the plane

and after a day to dry it had a few layers of clear gloss.

Today I added the wheels

beware the wheels are handed, and I do not know if it is by design, but one wheel would not fit, so I changed them, and they fit perfectly.

now the wheels have to set, then it is time for decals!

It is great to see this moving again, Erik (@airbum). It looks like you are sharing your building magic to this model that you usually save for 109s. I have been using AK Real Colors for some time, and I really like them. They have recently had a revision in the formula and are now in different containers. I think the formula change was an improvement.
