Those stretched sprue parts for the engine are a great addition, Spiros @fiveten.

Nice progress here, @fiveten. I think I will pull out my kit and the Pheon Decal sheet I have and do a silver bird.

    G'day Spiros (@fiveten),
Wow! You are sprinting along with this one.
I was looking forward to see how you tackled the cockpit - no pics?
My recollection is that the cockpit is a bit sparse - I'll have to drag mine out and have another look at it now.
How did the instrument panel fit?
Interesting to see the work you put in the rear of the cockpit, though.

Thanks my friend @michaelt! I gave the Gladiator top build priority, as I am too touched by the loss of Valeriy: the model is practically building itself...

The cockpit is not yet finished...

...only the instrument panel and pedals are attached, the rest of the parts to be attached at later stages. Yes, the cockpit is on the sparse side, but I am ok with it under a closed canopy, will only add seat belts. Regarding the instrument panel, I first trimmed its top, making it more curvy. I attached it AFTER closing the fuselage, basically fitting its side notches to the fuselage ridges, then carefully "pushing" it in position and applying some extra thin glue. Took some twerking for sure but gradually I got comfortable with the micro movements and affixed it in-position... For the engine assembly and installation, I STRONGLY recommend to follow Tom's @tcinla advice, which you can find at the start of this topic (he has built the kit and a full review can be found at Modelingmadness archives).

Spiro's what are you planning to use for rigging? EZ line, wire, or monofilament/fishing line?

Digging through the stash and found this kit . . .

    Great progress, Spiros @fiveten
Looking forward to the rigging process, quite some work to prepare the spue used for that.

Thanks my friend @johnb! It will consume some serious length of rigging for sure!

The legs joints presented some gaps, initially treated with liquefied styrene...

The engine is also under preparation... Cowling innards painted steel... And various bits and pieces under preparation... Thanks for stopping by!
