Lots of masking, but the results are worth it, Brian (@f-104nut). The Extra Dark Sea Gray looks great. It is hard to get AK Real Colors around here, so I usually try to make sure I have enough paint to finish a project before I begin. It doesn't always work that way, especially with a model this big, so sometimes I end up waiting for paint to come in the mail. I have never tried to stop painting and then restart part way through, but it looks like the AK did fine. Well done.

Spent the last week spraying the gloss coat. Then let it cure for a few days . Now startings on the decals finally . Kits decals are not badd at all . Still more to do 🙂

Decals lok great on, my friend @f-104nut! The decal solution will take care of the slight silvering.

@f-104nut - regarding the silvering decals - take a sharp #11 blade and slice them a bunch of times, then flood the decal with setting solution. The air under the decals (the source of the silvering) will be able to escape, and the decals will settle back on the surface and you won't be able to tell there was ever a problem or any slicing.
