For the most part the yellow turned out okay. I need to tend to a couple of areas where the seams are a bit rough and then spot fix respray. Hopefully with weathering I can blend this all in and tone it down as well. - Thanks for following along - Cheers

What i do a lot with yellow is highlighting panels with different hues of yellow, to create slight differences . Your Anson looks beautiful, @flypastrush.

Felix, Thanks (you do great work as well) My typical weathering is to apply a variance of paint tones during the spray set to get a "used" look. Haven't got to that stage as yellow is notorious for taking about 4 coats to get some coverage. One of the few colours I usually will use a primer on (but forgot to this round). - Cheers

Last but not least we have the Anson Mk.I masked up and looking like an Easter 🐣 decoration with the yellow underside covered with purple tape now. Next stop The Paint Shop!

    • Now through the dark earth 1st stage at the paint shop (looks a bit different tone in the photo)

@flypastrush, wow she is truly all wrapped up! Thank you for your feedback regarding how to get a used look - i think i will try that on my Wellington that i am currently building. I like to go with a black primer and then an extensive preshading but this does not make sense with planes that were still somewhat new. Are you going to spray the panel lines?

Thanks John (@johnb) & Felix (@fxrob), Hoping to get the the Dark Green on the weekend, but may have some Dark Earth touch-ups to do first. I never got into the black pre-shading as I found it easier (because it skips a paint step) to just lighten the tone of the paint colour being sprayed for the centre of the panels and darken the tone for panel lines and repair areas. If you look closely at the Anson you can see a bit of this effect. It being a trainer it didn't typically get the same lack of paint maintenance as a wartime aircraft might. This weathered effect will later be accentuated by panel line washes and post-paint streaking to get the weathering level desired for the subject. Felix: I built the beautiful Trumpeter 1/48th Wellington kit a few years ago (if you want to take a look it is at my website - https://www.flypastrush.com/post/whimpy-alouette-1-48th-trumpeter-wellington-mk-iii ) I am heading over to take a look at your Wellington build... Cheers

    Dear @flypastrush
I will definitely try your strategy with my Wellie as she must have been a relatively new plane in 1939. Thanks for the link, that is a fantastic looking Wellington, very realistic!

Sprayed the Dark Green paint on the Avro Anson and noted the Airfix right profile showing the demarcation line for the Trainer Yellow was different from the left profile… or above… and that was the one I used as a reference. 😑 So, I think this needs to be redone

Honing the model aircraft airbrush and paint matching skills to get this 1/48th Airfix Anson back to what was most likely the proper demarcation line between Trainer Yellow…. and of course the error spans two camouflage different colours.
Now looking what I suspect to be proper from above now. (This group can now return to the production Hangar for further work on the markings.

Thanks for the interest here Spiros (@fiveten) George (@gblair) & John (@johnb) The repaint work went pretty smooth and even gave me a chance to clean up a few paint surface flaws in the previous finish ...so all's well that ends well here. 🙂
