Model of RCAF 113 BR Squadron aircraft BW625 flown by S/L N.E. Small Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. It was in this aircraft that his crew gained the first confirmed U-Boat kill (U-754) for this Squadron near Sable Island 31 July 1942

More Hudson progress tonight - Assembly of the main resin cockpit parts. Nice details but challenging to piece together, so not exactly by the book, however most importantly it should appear OK from the outside, no windows were blocked and the fuselage pieces still seem to fit together πŸ‘πŸ»

A bit more work on the Lockheed Hudson Mk.III. Figured out the forward pit/nose layout from reference photos (as the supplied Instructions were quite brief!) Some sub-assemblies also started. Debating opening up the wing underside to add some wheel well detail (no place for the wheel to retract currently) πŸ€”

Excellent progress, my friend @flypastrush! You are at tricky crossroads regarding the deepening and detailing of the wheel bays. Each decision has its pros and cons.

Spiros & John, this certainly is no shake n bake kit πŸ™‚ The short-run multi-media types never are and this one will certainly have its challenges, however so far nothing that can’t be sorted by some extra time & effort. In the end it should produce a nice Hudson example (if I can avoid the major tragedies) - Cheers

A few more hours invested into this 1/48 Classic Airframes Lockheed Hudson and we have wheel wells. Is it accurate? πŸ€”(not exactly) Is it an improvement? (I think so) and for whatever reason it was a fun add in. - Keep on building (as long as you’re having a good time)

Good luck with this one, @flypastrush. I have heard this kit can be a real challenge. It is looking good already. The Hudson is one of my favorites. Maybe someone will release a new model in 1/48.

    George, John & Spiros,

This Hudson build will certainly challenge (However currently it is the only game in town for 1/48th) - Not to worry though as I waited years to build this Hudson so a company is bound to release a new tool injection mould kit probably in 2026 (My bet is on Airfix)!

I already looked into the forward nose glass fit of the kit and it doesn't line up with the plastic... so more fixes in store for the future here.

    Thanks for following along

Ah yes, the Hudson wheel well dilemma. I remember this quite well . Your work on this is certainly an improvement over what was included in the kit. When I did my Airfix Hudson last year, I only tried to suggest something in this area that looked like a Hudson wheel well.

I think Airfix is more likely to put out a 1/72 scale kit, however, ICM may very well put out a 1/48 kit since they are doing the Hampden this year. One can hope.
