    Hi everyone.

My first post in this group. Back in August 2015 I've started this project, but for some reasons it was put aside and I had a hard time getting back to it. However with the MiG-29 done, I've decided to bring this one from the shelf of doom and finish it.

The pilot was taken from the Zvezda kit but due to the different size, the legs had to be amputated and seat lowered as well.

I somehow managed to close the main parts though I hate the shallow engravings around the nose area, which always requires cleanup and reengraving the lost details.

I got to play with Alclads today, painting the bare metal engine/exhaust areas. Additional washes and heat staining to follow.

Looks pretty good so far, did you can compare the Trumpeter and Zvezda offerings ?
1:72 is a good scale for more than one of this important.aircraft types.

Thanks guys! Exhaust area will receive additional treatmant a bit later on, so that pic is really an "in progress" one.

Bernd - Problem with Zvezda is that so far, they released only Su-33 (in use only with Russian Navy) and Su-27SM (in use only with Russian AF and with some mods can be built into Indonesian one). It is by far, the best looking and accurate Flanker in 1:72 but requires some work if you wanna backdate it to the basic Su-27S or Su-27P version. I hope Zvezda will soon release other variants as the kit is designed to enable multiple versions by just switching certain parts.

Thanks for these informations, Sebastijan. Zvezda is on its way to the top of model makers, guees more versions of their successful Su-27SM will follow.
I have the Revell version of it and will have a deeper look inside, this evening, thaks to your inspirational work.
Thumbs up! As Craig said, the metal parts look awesome !

After battling with 6 consequent 10-hour shifts and marathon masking session (I better invest into Tamiya stocks), the blue paint has finally been layed down... Tomorrow awaits another masking session for the dark grey parts of the camo.

Thank you, Halvar. Actually, not 🙂 I am painting all the details now and I hope to be able to seize the day and start decaling later today... Oils will have to wait a little bit and she'll be a pretty clean bird.
