To me you are doing an amazing job on the interior, Carl @clipper
Especially considering this is just 1/72.

Once you paint the interior it will bring all of the separate parts together, Carl (@clipper). It won't look clunky once painted.

Thanks John (@johnb) and George (@gblair).

I'm getting close to being ready to paint the interior now. I may add a few more pieces of "busyness" to the main cabin, but I think the photos are going to be the only way you see most of this. I have cut out the cabin door opening and placed some structure around the opening. I'll have to figure out some way to mask this when I paint. I'm ready to move on from scratchbuilding!

I've been experimenting with UV resins for the windows. I ordered a medium and thin viscosity UV resin and got the medium yesterday. The thin arrives today at some point. The medium works pretty much the same as the nail gloss I have, in other words, I still need to sand and polish the window and even then, it's not very clear.

I am going to try something different with the thin viscosity resin. I think that part of the problem with clarity is the thickness of the openings and the resin that gets placed in there. For my next attempt, I am going to tape off the outside of the windows and put in a minute amount of thin viscosity resin, just enough to fill up the opening, but still remain relatively thin. If I am careful, I can peel off the tape afterwards without pulling out the windows! 🙂

The interior is absolutely stunning, my friend @clipper! Looking forward to your windows rendition with clear resin.

This interior looks very realistic, Carl @clipper
Absolutely worth all the extras you put in there.

Interior looks great, Carl (@clipper). Looking forward to getting all of the detail painted, which will really seal the deal on all of your extra work.

Thanks once again Spiros (@fiveten), JOhn (@johnb) and George (@gblair). I too want to get to the painting stage and should be able to start today (at least the primer anyway). Because this is a small kit and things are going to be hard to see anyway, and because I want to practice my painting, I am going to go the extra effort to use scale effect, over accented highlighting, and other techniques to make the interior more dramatic looking. I am not sure I will succeed at this, but I am going to try.

As for the windows, my thin viscosity resin was delayed in shipment, so I have not received it yet. THat's okay because I can spray the interior without having to worry about masking windows (except for the front windows which are in place and are already UV resin). Those front windows are not clear either and I may pop them out, but it's a bit more fragile in the nose, so I have not made that final decision yet.

This is an amazing build, I can't wait to see more!

Thanks Ian, it's been challenging for my older eyes but I've proved to myself that I can still do this in smaller scales. Next model though is going to be something a bit more modern! 🙂

In other news, I've got primer down on the parts. I'll let this thoroughly dry before beginning the real painting.

    Very good progress, Carl @clipper
The primer looks very smooth and covered all parts uniformly.

Primer really helps bring everything together, Carl (@clipper). Once you paint and close the fuselage things will start moving more quickly.

Yeah, I am looking forward to moving on with the painting of the interior. But after I close up the fuselage, I still need to panel line and rivet the fuselage, so there will be a bit more time before I get to final assembly. My canopy doesn't fit that great either and of course, there is still the turret detailing.

All looking perfect and homogenous, my friend @clipper! Those interior looks are beyond belief!

I tried to do the detail painting today as well as the interior color. From the photos I have, this interior color looks to be a good approximation. I had one photo with a real gaudy green interior, but that was obviously a more recent photo and not correct. This color mainly came from a color photo I have showing a few interior colors on the nose of a crashed Hudson. I must say, that trying to paint all of this was not easy.

I did try to get a sort of mottled effect on the green and I still want to go back and do a wash asn some other weathering, but I've had enough for one day.

The interior green looks nice already, Carl @clipper
