I've picked this one from the stash as opposed to the one Neil, and Jaime did as a contrast, and I don't think anyone has posted on this particular kit - yet! So basicly here are the parts etc, its all up to Airfix's latest standards (this kit came out about 2 years ago - i think). I will endevour to post regular updates.

Me too ,I like the one with the yellow ,if you go for that one here's a tip you may not know ,prime up the yellow area's in white and it will cover much better, looking forward to seeing this one whichever one go for.

Thanks for looking Guys. Haven't made up my mind which scheme to do yet. I'll see how it builds up first.

    Gregor,

It's a great kit! You're going to love it. I'll post pics of mine on the main page.

I have primed all the parts before starting this one, which is a first for me. Have removed some of the larger components from the sprues to do a bit of test fitting, and it all looks good. I'm looking forward to it after seeing your (John's) posting in headlines.

Hey Gregor, didn't want to try the Seafire 47? Fine kit, that one... 🙂

I have to agree with Neil, that yellow trimmed scheme is pretty sharp and adds some color to an otherwise drab paint job.

Hi Jaime, I have the 47 in the stash, but thought i'd do this one first - taking the easy option 🙂 . John did the scheme with all the yellow trim so i'm going to do one of the other two options.

Some progress shots of my Seafire...Having completed the D-Day models i'm back on track with this kit. Cockpit is nicely detailed, and general fit/engineering is very good. I'm choosing not to add all the drop tanks and rockets so the aircraft appears "clean" - Spitfires don't look as good, to me, encumbered with a lot of things hanging off the wings!

I was trying to decide what to do next & I think you solved my problem. I just got an Airfix FR 46/47 & think it moved to the top of the list.

Thats Great Al. Check out Jaime's wip thread, and you can see what that kit has in store for you :). Take a look at Neil Foster's FR47's too - nice kits but not without their vices. The FR17 is pretty straightforward by comparison so far.

So does this mean I have to move my Revell of Germany Seafire Mk XV to the front of the line...I sense an extemporaneous Griffon powered Spit "Mini" starting..lol

By all means Rick - the more the merrier :). I have a mark 12,14 & 22/24 in the stash that will have to be built some time, as well as the Fr 47. The Griffon Spitfires aren't as pretty as the Merlins but look meaner.
