I have copied this content from an article on my profile page. If you wish to view any previous comments please visit this page. Thanks, Rob.

I’ve been away a while having started a new job.
I’m building this for a friend and its a good kit, would be great if it wasn’t for all the ejector pin marks!

I have replaced some of the soft detail in the cockpit and added some scratch bits and MDC harnesses. the bombs have thinner flights and brass “rings”

    Hope you enjoy the pictures.

    Rob.

Beautifully done Robert. I'm glad to see this one build up as its a kit i'd love to do if I had the space to display it.

It is a big beast Gregor, I have got it in my stash.
Nice work on the inners Robert.
You are right about the ejector pin marks though, some in the most awkward of places.
Are you adding anymore A/M stuff , like turned brass gun barrels etc?
    Will follow this one.

Tremendous attention to detail Rob. Especially like the appearance of the wooden floor. Hope most of it will be seen when buttoned up. I think I'd have a hard time giving this one up.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I might add some more AM stuff Simon but I'm building this for a friend and I'm not sure how much he wants to spend.

Well after saying I may not be bothering with aftermarket goodies I was wooed by the Master Barrels set. I would like to find the Paragon Design .303 feeds to replace the awful vinyl ones Airfix provide. May have to scratch build some. I had a few slight gaps which I filled with strip and I replaced some of the molded detail with copper and lead wire. The wing roots had their rivet detail sanded away so this was replaced with sections of stretched sprue. The airframe is together except the nacelles but I’m waiting for the engines to return before I can progress. The 20mm ammo boxes are wooden and painted dark brown in my references so I replicated this. The feed chutes were painted metallic gray instead of silver which looks over scale to me.

    Thanks for looking,

    Rob.

    Looking great Robert.
I like the brass barrels for the guns, something I will be getting for her, that and seatbelts.
Nice finish on the ammo boxes etc.

Cheers Simon. I'm hoping that the after market boys will release some .303 ammo feeds now that the kit is going to be re-released. The ones in the kit certainly aren't great.

I agree on the ammo belts Robert, I have heard that they are a bit of a pain to fix?paint.

    Thanks Simon & Gregor.
The fuel tanks, bomb rack, cannon with their magazines and associated plumbing have been added along with the hot air ducting. Most of this is now hidden as I have also added the lower fuselage sides. These along with the open radiator flaps had a total of thirty ejector pin marks to remove, shish.
    Hope you enjoy the pictures,
    Rob.
